A Baby -- perhaps

Several Georgian newspapers are reporting that Prince David and Princess Anna are expecting a baby.  This makes a new twist on the story that keeps on giving.

On May 8, 2009, Prince David Bagration-Mouhkrani married Princess Anna Bagration-Gruzinsky, whose father, Prince Nuzgar, claims to be head of the Royal House of Georgia, although Prince David might disagree with that.  During the past two years, there have been reports that the couple had separated, reconciled, separated, that the marriage was an arranged marriage, that the couple were divorced, and, most recently Nuzgar was reasserting his claims, and talked about arranging for a female succession, as he has only daughters and there are no other eligible princes in his line.

And now comes word that the married-estranged-divorced-hate-each-other's-guts couple is expecting a baby.  Due date not known.  I looked to see if David's website was trumpeting the happy news, but his site is down, and not available.

Arranged marriage, and now an arranged baby. A boy would make things rather easy, a son would solidify both lines, and solve a succession issue to a throne that has not existed since 1800.
