Young king reviews troops

June 5, 1928

King Michael of Romania reviewed his troops today at the Culture Festival at Turnu Severin, reports the Los Angles Times.
The 6-year-old monarch was dress in a uniform, and took "an active part in the opening ceremonies.  He stood next to the Minister of the Interior, who "made the opening speech, then walked pass before "the troops, with the generals, as if making an honest-to-goodness inspection."

Young Michael maintained a "grave demeanor" throughout the event, but when it was over, he "impulsively rushed back to his mother, Princess Helen," and sought comfort in her arms.
